Black and White, Leather and Fur

Seriously, seriously obsessed with black leather and white fur this winter. Outfits, rooms, you name it. It's a winning combination.

Palm Trees

Looking for a fun decorating twist? Try palm trees. Seriously. They're a great way to class up any space and who doesn't need a little tropical inspiration in the icy grip of January. This was my Christmas present, by the way. The thing must be 7' tall.
But palms have been a staple of interior design for quite a long time. Victorians incorporated palms into nearly every grand space their homes had to offer (paging Downton Abbey). They look wonderful with either modern or more historical decor and give your home a little spice. Plus, everyone needs a little greenery in their lives.

So very pretty. Some orchids, some mosquito netting and some exposed raw wood and voila! Glamorous interior design for your wild safari camp setting.

European Neutrals

Via ClassyintheCity
Such a breath-taking space. Neutrals in design are almost always gorgeous, particularly if you have loads of light spilling into the space, making it light up and glow. The cow hide rug is an odd touch. Though I respect the urge to add a little ruggedness and earthiness to ground an otherwise ethereal room. It can't be the only thing in the room not cream or blush colored. I say brighten the room up with some potted palms along the arches and darker wood toned items on the mantle or go with a rug that's a rougher texture but still in keeping with the color scheme.
