My company's office remodeling oversight (they didn't order me a desk!) may have been my extreme good fortune, as I am now on the hunt for one on my own. And let's face it, standard office furniture is not what a good design studio needs! So I'm thinking of going this route. Ikea to the rescue:
As it turns out, taking this style of Ikea table (top and legs sold separately) and gilding it is quite the internet trend. Samples abound and differ between spray painting (above) and gold leafing (below) but it boils down to a terribly chic lacquered white table and airy golden legs for roughly $50. Ideal!
